Information

Timely diagnosis of uterine neck cancer and successful treatment of precancerosis is possible only by regular prophylactic gynecological examinations. This is done by modern diagnostic methods (cytodiagnosis, colposcopy, target biopsy) and the joint work of gynecologists, cytologists and histologists. Uterine neck cancer is one of the most frequent malignant lesions in women and is the leading oncological reason for their lethality. More than 700 women become morbid each year and more than 200 of them die at the age between 30 and 50 years. Risky groups are the women with early sexual life; women who change frequently their sexual partners; women with sexually transmitted lesions and very dangerous is the HPV infection – HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUSES. The favourable fact for this cancer type is that it never arises on healthy tissue but starts its development gradually, preceded by numerous stages – the so called precancerosis (known among the women as “wounds”). Diagnosis and treatment of precancerosis interrupts the unit for development of uterine neck cancer i.e. 100% prophylactics of precancerosis. Precancerous changes pass without any symptom, without complaints. There are no early symptoms in cancer too. The first symptoms like contact bleedings are already the late symptoms. Pains and urosepsis appear in the advanced stage of the malignant process. Diagnosis of precancerous changes and their treatment is quick, painless and financially accessible. The Obstetrics-Gynecological consulting room of “Vita” Diagnostic and Consulting Center is working by the opportunistic screening: each gynecological examination is oncoprophylactical one too, which means that from each woman, independently of the reason for her visit to gynecologist, is taken prophylactic oncologic smear too. The optimum period for prophylactic cytologic smear is 6-12 months.
