Vita offers the most advanced method for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and urinary stones

The first private hospital in Sofia "Vita" Hospital offers its patients the most advanced technology for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and urinary stones – the Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser. The laser is the first of its kind in Bulgaria, stationed in the building of a multidisciplinary hospital.

The Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser is the most accurate of modern lasers for the treatment of prostate diseases. Unlike other known laser technologies with similar application, the wavelength of this laser is absorbed more efficiently by water and hemoglobin, which is rich in the prostate. The laser energy is with very precise penetration in depth of tissue - 1.9 mm, as opposed to the "green laser", where the penetration is almost twice as much - about 4 millimeters. Both qualities of the Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser, which surpass all lasers so far, are high power and controlled penetration into the tissue. This allows the surgeon to quickly and effectively remove unwanted prostatic tissue, while maintaining control over direction of the laser energy. Furthermore the likelihood of complications is reduced to a negligible level.

In addition to that, the Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser offers several options for removing unwanted tissue according to the needs of the concrete case.

Lasers are used either for evaporation, or for resection of tissue. The new Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser in "Vita" Hospital can perform both functions with little risk of bleeding and other complications. Again, because of the specific wavelength, cutting speed and evaporation remain relatively constant regardless of tissues vascularization. The procedure also allows to take tissue samples for histological examination.

Due to the low rate of complications and minimal blood loss during prostate vaporesection the Cyber TM Thulium 150 Watt laser procedure proves to be suitable method for patients with comorbidities.

The ability to change the settings of the power of the laser determines its application in other medical fields besides Urology, such as: Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, General Surgery, and more.

Types of laser operations:

Laser vaporisation of the prostate gland
Laser resection of the prostate gland
