General information

Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the core medical specialties. It covers the prevention, diagnosis, and outpatient care for gynecological conditions in women of all ages, as well as early detection and monitoring throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Maternity Ward at VITA Hospital

The Maternity Ward at VITA Hospital is located on the second floor of the building. It has 21 rooms — single and double — each with a private bathroom, TV, and unlimited wireless internet. The ward includes a Labor & Delivery Section, a Postpartum Section, and a High-Risk Pregnancy Section.

Inside the Maternity Ward

The Labor & Delivery Section includes two Pre-Delivery Rooms, each with two beds, where the progress of labor is monitored, as well as two delivery beds in the Delivery Room for the birth itself. Directly adjacent is the Operating Theater for surgical delivery by Caesarean section.

The Delivery Room is equipped with a warming bed for the newborn. Immediately after birth, the baby is attended by a neonatologist who performs the first examination. Care for the newborn continues right up until discharge, provided to the highest professional standards in VITA's Neonatology Department. The Maternity Ward has a Recovery Room where the mother and baby stay together for two hours after birth for observation. This is the first opportunity to begin that precious bond between mother and child.

The father may be present during a natural birth only if no other delivery is taking place in the Delivery Room at the same time.

Your First Days with Baby

In the Maternity Ward at VITA Hospital, the mother and newborn can receive visitors as early as the first day after birth. To allow the family to share these unforgettable days together, the hospital provides a daily visiting window — between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

During this time, one close person — the baby's father or another visitor chosen by the mother — may stay in the room with the mother and baby, to feel the warmth of those first moments and become part of the beginning of their journey together.
