Recurrences are varicose formations, which after a successful operation, several years afterwards appear again due to absence of correction of life mode, on the grounds of which they appeared. The frequency of recurrence is 20%. Most often, they appear as extensions of the lateral branches of veins – they may appear in the hip or on the thighs and shanks. The reasons are the inadequate therapy or family burdening.
Recurrent varices are eliminated by phlebectomy, sclerotherapy by foam or endovenous therapy.
Recommendations
It is recommended all patients with varicose problems to visit periodically vascular specialist for consultation. Thus from the very beginning, by the minimum invasive methods (phlebectomy, sclerosing, stripping) the lesion may be eliminated without waiting the appearance of severe complications (Ulcus cruris, thrombophlebitis, phlebothrombosis, pulmonary thromboembolia).
The timely prophylactics may save much more serious problems, time and money of the patients.
