Information

It is due to the reduced magistral blood flow of lower extremities arteries. The main clinical symptom of lesion is the so called claudication pain, manifested after walking a certain distance. The pain forces the patient to stop, to have a rest and the symptom is called “Symptomatic claudication”. Shortening of distance is speaking for advancing process and necessitates immediate doctor’s intervention. The pain may aggravate, to turn from periodic into permanent one. At the finite stages of lesion may be noticed trophic changes of necrotic character in tissues of distal parts of extremity.

 

Ultrasonic diagnosis in these patients is compulsory.

Treatment is by medicines and surgical intervention.
