Hypothyroidism is a reduced secretion of thyroid hormones from thyroid gland. This lesion affects 2% of the population. The correlation women:men is 10:1. In 90% of the cases it is due to thyroid of Hashimoto after surgical intervention of thyroid gland and treatment by radioactive iodine. The most specific symptoms are weakness, forgetfulness, memory disorders, depression, chilly.  The skin is dry, pilosity is reduced, hair is thin and friable. Hearing is reduced and the voice is harsh. There is arterial hypertension, anemia, menstruation disorders. Treatment is substitution by thyroid hormones.
