Information

Reduced hearing is a serious problem for each age.  From birth to a ripe old age the hearing abilities determine to a great extend the possibilities fro social realization of everyone. The reasons leading to reduction or loss of hearing are many but could be divided into:
• inborn
• acquired:
- inflammatory lesions (viral and bacterial infections) of upper respiratory tract and ears, which are frequent too much and in which self-treatment is undertaken, without supposing that the appeared fading (often accompanied with tinnitus aurium) is a symptom of durable hearing damage.
- vascular disorders – in patients suffering from diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiac lesions.
- traumas in the area of head;
- tumor formations in ear or along the auditory nerve.
- work in noisy environment (above 85 dB) – prolonged stay at such conditions leads to severe damages of auditory nerve which are irreversible.
- phonic trauma: provoked by short-term but strong phonic irritation – bomb thrown adjacently, shoot, powerful stereo device (especially in disk clubs).

In spite of the above reasons, independently on the rate if hearing reduction, appearance of such symptom is a valid symptom for consultation with specialist. Only after detailed examination and audiogram (examination of hearing by device) it could be established the reason and the type of hearing damage. At affection by conductive type (the middle ear is engaged), at correct treatment there is recovery without consequences for hearing. At affection of reception type (auditory nerve is engaged), the rate of effect from the applied therapy depends much on its beginning i.e. if measures are undertaken immediately, it could be relied on recovery of hearing. At delay of several days, at self-therapy, there is durable hearing loss.
