Information

Inflammation of Achilles tendon may start most often as acute after overloading or playing sport on unsuitable terrains and floorings, or to be chronic one. Most often the sheaths of tendon, surrounding soft tissues or bursa between the heel bone and Achilles tendon are inflamed. The lesion is manifested by edema and pain in the region of Achilles tendon. Instant measures should be undertaken due to danger of chronification of inflammation and damage of the tendon, which may lead to its easier breaking. The treatment is rest, smearing with anti-inflammatory gels, use of anti-inflammatory tablets. It is necessary to lift the heel by about two centimeters thus relieving the suffering tendon. It is achieved by insertion into  the shoe special pads, which can be find in the sanitary shops here. At timely treatment, the complaints fade away for several weeks. The popular injections of corticosteroids in this region should be done after very accurate estimation and only by orthopaedist-traumatologist.
