The Transfusion Hematology Laboratory at VITA Hospital is equipped with qualified personnel and modern, state-of-the-art equipment, enabling precise immunohematological diagnostics. The laboratory's primary activity is performing immunohematological diagnostics for patients, which includes both basic and advanced testing.
The following investigations are carried out in the laboratory as part of general immunohematology services:
- Blood group typing – ABO and RH(D) systems
- Typing of erythrocyte antigens outside the ABO and Rhesus systems
- Screening for anti-erythrocyte antibodies
- Identification and semi-quantitative determination of detected antibodies (titer)
- Pre-transfusion compatibility testing
- Testing for hemolytic post-transfusion reactions
Antenatal, perinatal, and postnatal diagnostics, monitoring of the condition of pregnant women and newborns, consulting services and care related to the prevention of Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn (HDN)
