Dr. Dani Kolev, MD, PhD is part of the DCC VITA team since July 2025. He is a certified specialist neurosurgeon with over 11 years of medical experience.

He performs surgeries on patients with diseases of:

  • the brain (tumors - primary and metastatic) and its coverings (including high-technology, minimally invasive endoscopic interventions of the skull base - pituitary adenomas, meningiomas, craniopharyngiomas, etc.)
  • the spinal cord and spine (disc herniations, stenoses, tumors, fractures, spondylolistheses, etc.)

From 2014 to 2015 he volunteered at the Clinic of Neurosurgery at UMBAL St. Ivan Rilski. From 2015 to 2020 he was a resident in the team of the same clinic, and since 2020 he has been a specialist in neurosurgery. He is currently part of the specialist teams of DCC St. Ivan Rilski and DCC VITA.

Qualifications:

  • Part of the team of the reference center for endoscopic treatment of pituitary and other skull base tumors
  • Successfully defended dissertation on the topic "Factors affecting the outcome of surgical treatment of meningiomas in the Tuberculum sellae region"
  • Author and co-author of publications in the field of endoscopic, minimally invasive skull base surgery
  • Actively participates as a presenter at national and international congresses and seminars. Actively engaged in publication activity as an author and co-author in peer-reviewed journals at local and international level
  • Member of BLS; BDNH; EANS; WFNS.
