Dr. Ivo Matanov is an orthopedist-traumatologist specialist with a leading professional focus on modern arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee joint, and is part of the team of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at MBAL VITA and DCC VITA.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in 2019. In 2025 he obtained his specialty in Orthopedics and Traumatology.

During his studies he worked at the National Cardiology Hospital as an orderly and nursing assistant, as well as a volunteer in the Department of Orthopedics at UMBAL "St. Anna" - Sofia.

In 2020 he began his specialization in arthroscopic traumatology under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Rusimov at the Military Medical Academy - Sofia, where he was also his first assistant. Since 2024 he has continued his professional development at MBAL VITA.

In his practice he mainly deals with the treatment of degenerative and traumatic tears of the tendons constituting the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint, acute and chronic pain syndromes in the shoulder area, stabilization in recurrent shoulder dislocations, as well as sports-related injuries of the knee joint. He applies gentle, minimally invasive techniques, ensuring precise diagnosis, minimal surgical trauma and rapid functional recovery.

He works in an environment of high medical standards, with modern equipment and within a multidisciplinary team, where each patient receives individual attention, a clear explanation of their condition and professional care.

Dr. Matanov is a member of the Bulgarian Orthopedic and Traumatology Association (BOTA). He has participated in international arthroscopy courses - Utrecht (Netherlands), Bangalore (India) and Chennai (India).
