Dr. Stanislava Ilieva, MD, PhD is a specialist in internal medicine and nephrology with approximately 30 years of experience.

Education:
She graduated from the Medical University - Sofia in 1997. In 2004 she obtained her specialty in internal medicine, and in 2013 - in nephrology. In February 2025 she was awarded the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" after successfully defending a dissertation titled "The Role of Certain Pathogenetic and Genetic Factors in the Development of Diabetic Nephropathy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus".

Biography:
From 1997 to 2007, Dr. Ilieva worked as a physician in the Nephrology Clinic of СБАЛЕНГ "Acad. Ivan Penchev" - Sofia and УМБАЛ "Tsaritsa Yoanna - ИСУЛ". From September 2007 to September 30, 2026, she was a physician in the Nephrology Department of the Clinic of Internal Medicine at Acibadem City Clinic УМБАЛ Tokuda, where since December 2025 she has held the academic position of Chief Assistant. From October 1, 2026, she is part of the team at VITA Hospital and DCC VITA Sofia.

Professional interests:
Her main professional interests are focused on kidney damage in diabetes mellitus, the diagnosis and treatment of glomerulonephritis - both primary and associated with systemic diseases - as well as all types of acute and chronic nephropathies.

Qualifications:

• Conventional abdominal ultrasound;
• Percutaneous kidney biopsy under ultrasound guidance.

Member of:

• Bulgarian Society of Nephrology;
• European Renal Association.

She speaks English and Russian.

Dr. Ilieva does not see pediatric patients.
