Margarita Koleva

Information

Margarita Koleva has been part of the MBAL VITA since September 2023 as Chief Nurse in the Department of General, Abdominal and Laparoscopic Surgery.

From 2009 to 2023, she worked as a nurse and chief nurse at the Clinic of General Surgery at UMBAL "Lozenets". She gained knowledge and experience with patients in awake coma, as well as with patients before and after liver transplantation.

From 1998 to 2009, she worked in the Surgery Department and Intensive Care Unit at First City Hospital in Sofia, as a nurse. She gained knowledge and experience in: surgery of the stomach and duodenum; surgery of the liver and biliary system; pancreatic surgery; colorectal surgery; surgery for abdominal wall hernias; emergency surgery.

Education:

• She graduated from Medical University in Sofia in 1998 as a "Specialist" nurse.
• In 2020 she graduated from Medical University in Sofia, specialty "Healthcare Management", Bachelor's degree.
• In 2022 she obtained a Master's degree in "Healthcare Management" at Medical University Sofia.

Since 2006 she has successively completed postgraduate qualification courses, continuing education in:

• "Nursing Care for Patients on Artificial Ventilation"
• "Prevention of Hospital-Acquired Infections in the Surgical Clinic"
• "Dietary Treatment - a Mandatory Method in Abdominal Surgery"
• "Modern Aspects in the Treatment and Education of Diabetic Patients"

She has obtained a certificate of professional qualification for providing quality healthcare.
