Prof. Lyudmila Ivanova is part of the team at DCC VITA since March 2022. She is a specialist in Nutrition and Dietetics with over 42 years of medical experience. She applies diet therapy to adult patients and children with various chronic diseases, post-operative conditions, and nutritional deficiencies. She develops individual dietary regimens for weight reduction and improvement of nutritional status, as well as for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. She also works with individuals without health problems and with pregnant women to establish healthy dietary patterns tailored to their physical activity and physiological condition.

  • 1979 - Graduated from the Medical University of Sofia
  • 1986 - Obtained specialty in Nutrition and Dietetics (Nutritional Hygiene)
  • 1994 - Obtained specialty in Hygienic Toxicology
  • 1992 - Defended a doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Experimental Studies on the Effect of a Combined Calcium and Zinc Supplement in Cadmium Intoxication"

She has completed specializations at the Centers for Disease Control (USA), Jagiellonian University in Poland, and Karolinska University, Novum Centre.

  • Subsequently served as Research Associate in Nutrition and Dietetics and Senior Research Associate at the National Centre for Hygiene, Medical Ecology and Nutrition
  • 2004-2007 - Nutrition Expert at UNICEF Ukraine
  • Associate Professor at South-West University "Neofit Rilski", Blagoevgrad
  • Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"
