The aim of surgical treatment is by the least cosmetic effect to eliminate varicosely changed subcutaneous veins.
The indications for surgical treatment are caused by the insufficiency of valvular apparatus of subcutaneous and perforating veins, disorders of venous hemodynamics, appearance of trophic changes and manifestation of clinical picture. Surgical treatment is suitable in varicose veins of magistral type, in multiple recurrent varices after sclerosing or surgical treatment, in varicosis causing frequent complications – hemorrhages, thrombophlebitis, dermatitis and ulcers, in varices, which infringe the labour ability of patients or cause manifested subjective complaints.
Surgical technique may be done under general, spinal or epidural anesthesia.
