After weeks, and sometimes months, in the neonatology department, the long-awaited moment arrives when the prematurely born baby is ready to go home. For many families, this is one of the happiest days of their lives, but also a moment filled with countless questions and natural concerns.
To help families navigate this transition with ease, we created the VITA "Mother's Embrace" program, which provides the opportunity for round-the-clock stay of the mother and father with their baby before discharge. Supported by our dedicated neonatology team, parents actively participate in the baby's daily care and gradually build the necessary confidence.
We believe that truly successful care is a partnership between the doctors' expertise and the healing power of a parent's embrace. Modern studies are clear that this early closeness facilitates the child's adaptation, brings calm, and helps the family close the chapter of worries in order to step over the threshold of their home with readiness and confidence.
