Varicocele is an acquired condition in which, most often on the left side (for anatomical reasons), extremely dilated veins are found around the testis, forming a worm-like conglomerate. They warm the testis and disrupt the production of high-quality sperm. Difficulty in the outflow of venous blood from the testis, which in this case is rich in adrenaline, leads to constriction of the feeding vessels and a reduction in the size of the testis over time. Early diagnosis, monitoring, and timely surgical treatment lead to complete restoration of testicular function.

Surgical treatment is required in cases of persistent, unresponsive pain in the affected testis, a worsening spermogram and Kruger test, and a reduced size of the testis compared to the other one. Surgical treatment is performed using the Palomo method, with selective ligation of only the venous vessels using a microscope.
